Virus Removal Services NJ

Computer virus or malware usually come in two forms.  The virus is can be silent working in the background collecting data such as passwords and personal information doing it's best to hide.  On the other hand the a virus can make itself known by preventing you from running applications, displaying popups, bring you to a different website then you intended too.

How to tell if you have a silent or stealth virus infection?

Figuring out if you have a stealth virus can be a bit tricky, especially if you're anti-virus doesn't see the virus.  Also a lot of the symptoms I'm going to list may be caused by other computer issues, just not a virus. So either way it would be a good idea to have JRD Tech look and diagnosis your computer if you have the following:

  • Computer behaves a bit odd, random errors that occur for no reason at all.
  • People receive emails from you that you never sent
  • Get an occasional blue screen computer crashes
  • Applications randomly disappear off the screen and my or may not display an error message

Recognizing an intrusive virus or "rogue" anti-virus program.

These are real easy to identify. Usually these viruses will paralyse your system and block you from doing just about anything with your computer.  Here's what to look for:

  • A pop-up that resembles a anti-virus program that tell you your infected with a few dozen viruses. This is called a rogue anti-virus application  and it actually *IS* the virus. No matter how hard you try you can't close this or it will ask for payment to remove the viruses.  (never send payment this is a scam)
  • Any program you try to open is blocked from opening or nothing happens at all.
  • Clicking on a link when search from Google, Bing, or Yahoo takes you to completely different website then what you were expecting.

I should also mention there is usually a rootkit associated with this type of infection.  If an anti-virus gets rid of the rogue virus pop-up, but then it reappears the next time you reboot your computer or if the other symptoms such as being redirected to unintended websites are still present then you probably have a rootkit infection.
